The heart of the new design is a striking yet functional Kitchen that delivers on aesthetics and usability. This reimagined home is more than a renovation – it’s a transformation that embraces modern living while celebrating the home’s original charm. With Birdblack’s keen eye for detail and understanding of the client’s lifestyle, the result is a timeless yet contemporary entertainer’s haven.
In its original 1970s form, this home featured a compartmentalised design with a boxy Kitchen and a small Dining Room at the front, while the Lounge and Living areas were situated at the back – creating a disconnected and impractical layout.
Our client found herself isolated in the Kitchen at one end of the home, far from the social energy of her guests at the other. When Stu was brought on to execute a Kitchen renovation, he saw an opportunity to completely transform the home’s flow and functionality.
His vision: relocate the Kitchen to the rear of the house, creating a seamless, open-plan living space that embraces breathtaking mountain views.
