In 2018, Birdblack Design were engaged by our clients at ‘Karimbla Residence’ to begin Phase 1 of their renovations – their Main Bathroom and Ensuite. Here we are in 2020 presenting Phase 2: their Kitchen and Laundry!
Firstly we would like to give honour to our clients. During all the selection process, our clients trusted Birdblack Design to choose materials and finishes which they would not have selected independently. We love clients that trust our experience, vision and knowledge. We are sure that you will agree: the results are divine.
‘Karimbla Residence’ is a townhouse structure, so existing walls proved a little tricky to work with. The Kitchen was subject to these constrictions, so Birdblack Design happily implemented our special style of creative design. In small spaces, we are always fond of floor to ceiling storage, utilising every inch of space. We are passionate about eliminating wasted space and ensuring functionality in dead corners.
Within the Laundry, we specified the same black cabinetry as the Kitchen, allowing the home to be harmonious within the different spaces. As with the Kitchen, the Laundry was also restricted in space. By incorporating features such as pull-out hampers and cupboards with bi-fold doors which house the stick vacuum, brooms and mops; we have allowed for every item to belong out of sight. Maintaining the floor to ceiling storage again means that products, soaps, towels and linens are all neatly stored away, leaving plenty of bench space.
Including a toilet means this Laundry also doubles up as a guest bathroom when entertaining and the Main Bathroom may be engaged. Speaking of the Main Bathroom, you will discover the utterly fabulous blue fish-scale tiles in both the Laundry and the Main Bathroom, seamlessly tying together the upstairs and downstairs of the home.
