This Laundry renovation was linked to a Bathroom renovation down the hall. The brief was to create an absolute haven that felt like a day spa. In the Laundry, we were working with the existing parameters of the space, but we wanted to add functionality to this zone.
The materials choices flow in from the Bathroom renovation which is down the hallway: the warm and creamy marble (Arctic Ice Natural Stone), as well as the white zellige tiles. There is a notable connection between the two wet zones. The full height cabinetry is in a walnut timber look and incorporated the fluted glass to break up the joinery and adding an element of elegance. There is fluted glass also in the Bathroom, so that continuity and cohesion is evident.
From a practical standpoint, we have included pull-out hampers and a Magic Corner storage system so that the dead space is now able to be utilised. We have a hanging rail with LED strip lighting behind, hidden in the open shelving above. To the right, we have a smaller display shelf with a brushed bronze metal sheeting. The floor and benchtop is in the Arctic Ice Natural Stone that is in the Bathroom down the hall. The tapware is in a bronze to match the Bathroom. This renovation shows us that Laundries can be beautiful: looking like a 5-star hotel, but also have all the function that a modern family needs.
