SANDY FOOT RESIDENCE

KITCHEN & WALK-IN PANTRY

‘Sandy Foot Residence’ is home to a young family: two fitness industry entrepreneurs and their two young children. This couple desired a vibrant Modern Industrial home, perfect for entertaining and raising their family for years to come.

This Kitchen, Lounge and Dining area is very much open plan. Therefore continuity and harmony are key for spaces like this. This entire upper wing has stylish dark chocolate, ebony engineered oak timber flooring throughout. The reclaimed timber hallway stretches from the Kitchen all the way down past TWO hidden rooms through to the Master Bedroom. Solid timber is present in both the breakfast bar and open shelving.

We paired all this beautiful timber with stunning blacks: sleek black concrete for the Kitchen bench top and two very eye-catching black cylinder rangehoods. The splashback tile showcases the cylinders offering different patterns in each tile, adding variation and texture. Adding in greenery throughout really makes this Modern Industrial Kitchen POP!

The Kitchen features many straight lines, very streamlined and straight-cut. By adding in a ring shaped, sculptural pendant light, Birdblack Design brought variation and layering of round shapes alongside the black cylinders. We think the contrast between straight and round works beautifully here.

The first Secret Door in reclaimed timber takes you through to the Walk-In Pantry. This pivot swing door with a subtle black handle hides all the small appliances and cupboard goods from sight.

We love secret rooms!
