KEMBLA RESIDENCE

Birdblack Design has created a fantastic outdoor living space for our clients, combining functionality with a touch of European-inspired aesthetics. The incorporation of three distinct zones – the outdoor kitchen and bar, alfresco dining room, and outdoor lounge with a gas fireplace – provides a well-rounded experience for the young, working couple.

The decision to enclose the space with a designed roof demonstrates a thoughtful approach to making the area usable throughout the year, regardless of the weather. This allows our clients to enjoy the stunning views of the nearby mountain ranges without being hindered by the elements.

The choice of Mediterranean tones, structure, and materiality, influenced by our homeowners’ European heritage, adds a cultural touch to the design. The use of Venetian plaster as a backdrop behind the fireplace, along with the incorporation of curved niches, not only adds dimension but also creates a visually appealing and textured atmosphere.

The seating arrangements, with a breakfast bar accommodating five and a dining table for nine, provide ample space for entertaining family and friends. This attention to practicality and comfort ensures that the outdoor space is not only visually appealing but also highly functional for social gatherings.

Overall, Birdblack Design has successfully transformed a barren outdoor space into a welcoming and versatile alfresco area that reflects the preferences and lifestyle of the young working couple. It’s a testament to the careful consideration of both design and practicality in meeting the clients’ desires for an extended living space with a connection to the outdoors.
