Hai Lang Residence is a unique beachfront home located on the South Coast of Australia, setting new standards in design, engineering, construction methods and interior detailing. Birdblack Design was mindful of creating harmony between the Interior Design and the Architecture. The result is warm, refined, and homely. A standout feature is the Kitchen Island: drawing inspiration from a boat’s hull. Despite its substantial size, the island avoids a monolithic feel through a three-dimensional, curved design, adding a touch of lightness to this significant part of the home.

The copper finish on the island and rangehood adds visual interest and warmth to the space. The gradation from dark to light is a deliberate choice in the shading of the copper, creating a subtle ombre effect. This detail adds depth and dimension to the design.

The splashback, adorned with a microcement finish, conceals a secret door that discreetly leads to the Wet Kitchen behind. This choice of texture and toning was carefully selected to harmonise with the French Vanilla marble throughout the home. Every detail contributes to the overall elegance and unity of the space.
