(USA) Furniture Curation Package

Here is a perfect example of our expertise and skill! ‘Chester Residence’ is in Detroit, USA and we completed not only their Furniture Curation Package, but their Full Home Design Package from right here in Wollongong, Australia.

This divine deep royal blue velvet lounge was the first item to be selected. The design brief for the home is Modern Industrial and utilises very earthy colour palettes throughout so we decided to choose a bold and opulent colour to house the feature furniture. The textured rug underneath complements it perfectly and blends beautifully with the custom concrete surrounding the fireplace.

The coffee table adds a structural element with a grid design and glass top. Cutting edge design in this Modern Industrial brief! We also see cohesion between the coffee table and custom staircase –featuring a steel gate and more of these framing gridlocks. To bring balance to the space we added in faux fur beanbags in a chocolate brown for ultimate family comfort.

Sometimes, it is not always about “out with the old, in with the new”. Sometimes, we find our clients have special pieces, or sentimental pieces or something they adore that needs to be included within the curation.

Our American family had exactly that: an existing dining table including four dining chairs that are certainly industrial in their appearance. The dining chairs are exposed metal in a sculptural design, so we paired them by selecting skeletal pendant lights which sit directly above. The Dining Room is certainly very architectural in style. Beautifully unique, and certainly eye-catching!

Our client also had existing dining chairs that are now featured around the breakfast bar, so we paired the black and white pendant lights overhead to work in with these chairs. Curation is not always about matching perfectly, but rather focusing on harmony and cohesion as you trail throughout the home.

What a glorious room to wake up in every day! With reclaimed timber beams overhead and concrete panels on the back wall, your eyes are drawn upwards, making this space feel light and airy and ultimately, relaxing. Many of the decorative items in this home are quite large, heavy and bulky, so we wanted to create a juxtaposition in the Master Bedroom by selecting a very light linen bedhead against the black steel framing. Contrast at its best!

The bedside tables match in with the four-poster bed frame, whilst a sand tone silk rug laid over the chocolate timber flooring softens the entire space, delivering a very glamorous and luxurious feel underfoot.
